3. What are green electricity certificates (GEC) and how can they be obtained?

A green electricity certificate, or GEC for short, represents a yield of 1,000 kWh of electricity produced by solar panels and is issued administratively by the VREG. In the year 2010, a minimum amount of €350 per 1,000 kWh was established. In 2011 and 2012, this amount will be €330 and €310 respectively. For further information, please visit the VREG website.
